Behzad Noorbehesht, M.D.

At Palms Imaging Center, we recognize that in order to fully utilize the full diagnostic potential of today’s sophisticated imaging technology, imaging studies must be interpreted by highly skilled and subspecialty trained radiologists. That is why we have assembled a team of board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists with impeccable credentials to give the most accurate and detailed read possible. Behzad Noorbehesht, MD, PhD is the Managing Director of Palms Imaging.

Dr. Noorbehesht received his MD degree from the University of Miami in Florida. He subsequently attended Stanford University in Palo Alto, California where he received his Internship and Residency Training in Diagnostic Radiology. He received his specialty board certification from the American Board of Radiology in 1990. Immediately following his residency, Dr. Noorbehesht remained at Stanford University Medical Center and completed a clinical fellowship in Abdominal Imaging with Dr. Brooke Jeffrey. While at Stanford, Dr. Noorbehesht also did a one year research fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Dr. Noorbehesht has published extensively in the field of radiology and medical imaging.

In 1991 Dr. Noorbehesht joined the medical staff of St John’s Regional Medical Center in the department of radiology and was a partner in the Oxnard-Camarillo Radiology Group until 1999. While at St. John’s Dr. Noorbehesht was involved in the management of Cross-sectional imaging including CT and MRI. He started the stereotactic core breast biopsy program in 1998. He also did some pioneering work at that time in the area of breast MRI. Dr. Noorbehesht was also the medical director of St. John’s outpatient imaging center. In recognition of his dedication to patient care, Dr. Noorbehesht received the physician of the year award from the staff of St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in 1995.

From 1998 to 2006, Dr. Noorbehesht was with Community Medical Imaging in Fresno, California where he was Medical Director of outpatient imaging in 2002 as well the Managing Partner in 2005.

In 2006, Dr. Noorbehesht founded Palms Imaging Center, and serves as its Medical Director. Dr. Noorbehesht’s areas of clinical interest are MRI and body imaging with emphasis on oncologic imaging, including PET as well as cardiovascular imaging.
